Southern First focused on relationship-first banking for individuals and businesses. Their personal service and motto of banking “on a first-name basis” have helped them grow into a regional powerhouse and one of the largest banks in the southeastern United States.

The Banker Dashboard is taking this same commitment to service Southern First is known for and extending that to include a simple, and intuitive solution for commercial banking.

Simplifying the complex workflows in banking

We partnered with Southern First to design a new banker dashboard for their internal team and commercial customers. Step one meant immersing ourselves in their workflows, talking with bankers, and learning the complex workflows that exist in the banking industry.

One of the key challenges we faced was synthesizing the complex workflows into a unified and simplified process. Weeks were spent mapping out user flows and creating wireframes before moving on to Figma, and carefully crafting a design that not only met the needs of Southern First's bankers but also their customers.

We simplified where we could, and streamlined workflows. We helped eliminate the back and forth with clients, and mitigated the amount of manual entry work required by better leveraging existing data. These efforts lead to days being cut off the average lead time from prospect to customer, and saved hours of work for bankers. All this time savings lets Southern First bankers do more of what they do best, building better relationships with their customers.
